Blue Jay Elves help community families

The Blue Jay Elf is when students go around and collect money donations to help the families that are unable to buy their children Christmas gifts. They raise the money so they can take the families out and let them get some Christmas gifts.

This year they were able to raise $6,650 to help 59 children buy clothes, presents and other necessities.  The parents went to Walmart and were able to be helped by 6 “elves.”

The Blue Jay Elf started in 2010 to help families, the students that are most involved in this fundraiser are Key Club, SADD, Student Council, and National Honor Society. These groups are the main groups that go around and and collect donations, but anyone can contribute to this worthy cause.

Each student goal is to collect $10 total in donations from 10 people. All of the proceeds go to local families and they take them to Walmart to go shopping.  These Blue Jay clubs are glad they could help make the holidays brighter for these families.
