Driving Safely in the Snow
January 12, 2017
Here at Jackson-Milton we are concerned with our students driving safety especially in the winter, so here is a list of tips that will help you get through this winter.
- Never run a car in an enclosed area like a garage to heat it up.
- Make sure to keep your tires inflated, going from the warm spring to the freezing winters of Ohio the air in your tires will condense and leave them to seem flat.
- Keep your gas tank at least half filled to avoid your gas tank or sensors getting damaged from the cold.
- Try to avoid using your cruise control, so your car will not spin out of control.
- If you are able to avoid something rather than braking do it.
- Don’t power up hills, if you just get a little inertia going before you reach the hill and slow your speed as your get up to the crest of the hill you will be able to take on hills much easier than before.
- If you don’t NEED to go somewhere just stay home.
From the Jackson-Milton family we hope this helps you get through the dreaded Ohio winters.
