Soccer team scores a new coach

The JM Soccer team has been practicing day and night for months. They have been working hard all summer and have practically built the team from the ground up. The Jays gained a new soccer coach, Craig Fetkovich, who is training them to be a competitive team. The team plays against many skilled teams and have been pushing along half through the season now.

The soccer team has 6 returning seniors this year: Captains – Travis Tikkanen, Scott Mitchell, and Jeremiah McAdams, along with two other seniors James Auden and Anthony Graham.

The Jays have already played 7 games this season and have seven more to go. They have played: Mathews, Crestview, Columbiana, South Range, United Local, Mineral Ridge, and East Palestine. The team’s senior night is on October 3rd at home, at 5:00 pm vs Heartland Christian.

The team has played 3 more games in the week of September 19-23 alone. They have been working extremely hard and have been pushing themselves to the limit, making the other teams go all out to slide some wins. This week alone they played, Columbiana, Mineral Ridge, and JFK. The Jays have a small break and some time to rest up until their next game at East Palestine on wednesday September 28, who they lost to 1-0 the last time they met. Their next game sure will be a tough one but they may be able to come out on top and win.

The Jays played East-Palestine, Heartland Christian, Leetonia, United Local, and Garfield. The team may have had a tough season, but their hard work did not go unnoticed. They lost 4 games by just 1 point. The seniors that will graduate are going to be missed next year and the team will have some big shoes to fill. The team is already getting ready for next year and will bring a lot of talent to the field.
