The First Annual K-6 Grade Mother & Son Sadie Hawkins Dance sponsored by National Honor Society was held in the cafetorium on Friday March 18.  Mrs. Reyes, adviser of NHS, and her members planned the activity following a successful Father/Daughter dance held a few months earlier.   The profits from this event are being donated to Relay for Life.  It was a night of picnic style food (hot dogs, pizza, nachos, popcorn, candy, juice, water dessert) with dancing, different games and competitions such as an obstacle course, 3 legged race and a hula hoop competition. These activities were all set to music and to enjoy with the special mom/boy in your life.

Mothers and sons dressed in the traditional Sadie Hawkins dance where the couples all come in matching outfits.  Some went with a traditional Western style, while others just made sure they dressed alike.  All of the outfits were a lot of fun.

Often boys aren’t as eager as girls to attend a formal event, that is why the choice of a Sadie Hawkins theme would be more enjoyable with games and competitions thrown in to increase the fun.

The cost was $35.00 per couple and picture of each couple was included in the cost.
